EYH Lake County
Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) is a national network that hosts one-day conferences to encourage young women to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers. Through locally organized EYH Network programs, the EYH program provides STEM role models and hands-on activities for middle and high school girls. The ultimate goal is to motivate girls to become innovative and creative thinkers ready to meet 21st century challenges!
Expanding Your Horizons conferences nurture girls’ interest in science and math to encourage them to consider careers in STEM. Conferences are held all over the United States for middle and high school girls, and we are excited to be hosting our first Expanding Your Horizons conference in Lake County on September 29, 2018!
At the conference, girls can pick from a series of hands-on workshops to attend, including topics such as food science, biomedical engineering, and particle physics. The students will have a great time learning about new careers and participating in hands-on activities. The workshops will be led by female professionals from a wide variety of STEM careers. Workshop leaders are eager for the students to have a positive experience and will gladly answer any questions about what they do and how they prepared for their careers. This is a wonderful opportunity for your students to gain hands-on exposure to a variety of STEM careers and meet great role models.
